Hurting

I hurt my back on June 11, and I have been struggling in pain since then.  I was listening to the radio today, and I remember singing this song in the choir at our church--It means a lot to me right now.

I'm trying to make some decisions regarding my back with surgery being one of my options.  Not an easy choice to make, but God is my helper, and I am depending on him.

Happenings

I have started a new study--Judges.  It's a slightly depressing book because of Israel's disobedience and idolatry, but to learn how to drive out your enemies (disobedience), it's a great book.

On another subject, our garage door opener finally gave up the ghost.  It's been acting up for a while, and we got our money's worth out of it, because we've had it a very long time.  Hubby picked up a new one, and he's installing it now.

It has a new feature our old one didn't that I'm gonna like.  You can lock it down (turn it off).  Pretty nice.

ANKLE UPDATE:  I went to the doctor today about my ankles, because I'm not making a lot of progress--at least to my liking.  Sunday, when we got to church, my ankle (the broken one) was hurting so badly that I had a hard time walking.  After eating lo-carb for a whole day my ankles improved.  The doc took x-rays again, and it is getting close to being healed, but he thinks I need physical therapy, so I start that tomorrow.  Stronger ankles here I come.  He assured me I wasn't going to be crippled the rest of my life.  Yea!

Spring Blooms

Warning!  Picture overload ahead......
Chives, Rose, and Clematis---I took these pics this afternoon.

Here are the same flowers.... pics I took this morning.
Clematis.
Sweet Rocket.

Pink Roses.

Alas, all is not perfect.  If my ankles will allow me I need to tidy up this bed.
Speaking of ankles, The Dr. is allowing me to exercise on the Elliptical machine now.  I did four and a half minutes this morning after doing twenty minutes on the bike---Yea!  Baby Steps for me.  I still can't go down stairs with ease.  I look pretty special when I'm doing it---one foot at a time, and sideways.
Look, my hollyhock will bloom before the nasty Japanese beetles invade.  Good thing some of last year's gardening work is paying off still---with bad ankles I'm pretty limited.

A collage of this morning pics.

Eyeballs Added

Yummy, yummy, yummy, I've got love in my tummy---Ha-ha!   I just felt  song comin' on.
I've got five little lady bugs made.  We made a little trip to KC yesterday to help our daughter deliver her old car to our grand daughter.  It was still in real good shape and we are glad that worked out for them both. I worked on a couple of these little bugs on the trip.
Sophie, our two year old grand daughter saw my face book page with a picture of two of these without the button eyes, and made the comment that I pulled their eyesballs out.  I almost forgot to add the eyes.  Thank you Sophie!

Many times with a new pattern, I have fun dressing them up a bit.  I twisted my own cording, then added some beading to the ends of the joined pull cords.

Oh, look, they're having a little meeting.

Some good news about my ankles--I worked out today.  I just did the recumbent bike for 20 minutes, because that's all my doc would allow.  The most amazing thing happened after that---I can walk a little better.  My FIL had informed me I was walking like an old woman---(some information I could do without).  I'm so excited about the improvement!!!

Broken

Well, I went to the Dr. yesterday, and guess what?!  I broke my ankle on the right as well as spraining it and the left ankle.  I go back to see him in three weeks.
See that pretty bouquet?  That's from Erin--from her yard.  Pretty, huh?  It's an "I'm sorry your broken" bouquet.

For now I have to put my feet up 4 times a day, and ice them for 30 minutes each time, wear these beautiful compression socks and also this air splint.  I also am suppose to wear an elastic support on my left ankle.   Woo-hoo!  Must get one first.
I'm just an accident waiting to happen.

I did get to go to our grandson's Basket Ball game last night, and they won, 48 to 10.

That's our grandson, Cole in the foreground.

That's Cyle---No. 2 in the center.

My hubby was so pleased to have his whole family in the gym where he graduated from High School back in 1965.

SPRING'S HERE, AND A SLEEP STUDY

I took a couple of pictures in my yard--signs of Spring---YEA!

I finished my Sleep Study this morning; I don't know the results, and I won't find out til May, but I sure am glad that torture is over with.  I had ten wires glued to my head, five patches with wires stuck on my face, two wires taped underneath my nose, a nasal cannula stuck in my nose, two patches with wires stuck to my chest, four patches with wires on my legs, a pulse ox taped to my finger, and a belt strapped to my belly, and another one strapped to my chest.  Each of these were connected to wires that were swirling around my body and head then plugged into a mother board above my bed.  (Sorry, no pictures.)  Next they turned out the lights and told me to go to sleep.  Moving sleeping positions was a monumental task---and I was suppose to sleep?  What an ordeal!!  I am tired because I didn't sleep very well, but I bet I sleep tonight.  I am exhausted.  One good thing is that they didn't need to come in and hook me up to a C PAP machine in the night, so I guess I was breathing alright.

MOJO Missing

I don't know where it went.  I'm concentrating on my diet and exercise.  I guess that's where it went, but this is something I need to do, badly.  Seriously.

I'm a morning person, and by the time I get around to doing something creative, I've spent all my creative energy on chores, exercise, shopping and the like--after that I'm tired.  Well, losing weight is important, and if it takes it all out of me that's okay, cause I don't want to get side-tracked---at least for now.  It seems I'm only capable of concentrating on one major thing, so until the ball gets good and rolling, I guess this is how it must be.  I guess I still have my MOJO, but it's tuned in to my health, and not sewing, etc.

I have lost six pounds in a week--Yea!  Much of it I'm sure is water, but that's how it is in the beginning of losing weight, so I must stick with it for the real pounds lost.

I did do something minor--I brought down a chair out of the attic.  You see, we moved our small aquarium to put it beside the big one which left things out of balance, so I brought down this chair:
I've got my library books on it, and the bags we use to cart the books back and forth.  It will also come in handy when we have company.

Here's why it needed to be balanced out--(I can't live with anything out of balance).
It still needs something, but I'm not sure what at this point.  What do you think?
