WATER, WATER EVERY WHERE

We just returned from a trip to our daughter's home in Iowa.  Ton's of fun.
We went swimming, and the dog entertained us a lot.
The grand kids entertained us, and my hubby made a bunch of videos that I am enjoying now.
They are getting a new house with a pool--this one here.

The day we left we went with Jen and Cole to the Dr.  They had a nice salt water aquarium there, so I got a pic.  Our grand daughter, Brittany, and her fiancé, Cody love aquariums as do we.
We all went to a few aquarium shops with them while we were there.  We got some Java Moss for our aquarium.  It is on the rock stack.

When we got home we bought some more plants.  The shops we went to in Omaha were very inspiring.

The Glory of God Declared!

I've taken several beautiful sky pics this week.

This one through our moon roof.

Spectacular!  I have so much fun looking up.  No one can outdo God's glory.

What I been doin'....

Gardening, mowing, Bible study, and swimming, that's what.  I've kind of ignored my blog just a little bit.  This morning, real early (6 am) we went to take care of my sister's yard.  I was getting ready to mow, and hubby said look at the sunrise--so I took a pic!
I never tire of a beautiful sunrise or sunset.

I finished up my Isaiah part 1 for the spring.......

and this is my Summer study--Wa-hoo!  I love it. Two more lessons.  In August we start part 2 of Isaiah.

I've got lots of watering going on in the front....
( see the neighbor's cat?)
and in the back.

Lastly, I've been swimming---just look at that water.
Makes me want to jump in just looking at it.

UFO Finish and Summer Class

I finished my Tree Tea Towel project.  All nine tea towels finished.  Here are the last two.  It's nice to finish a project that I started many moons ago.  I hope to finish my red hexie quilted purse soon.

On Wednesday nights I'm helping teach a cake decorating class to kids.  Some kids get it.

And some don't.  It's fun anyway.
This week they learned about borders, next week they'll learn about writing, and the third week they'll learn about flowers.  The fourth week we'll have a show and tell to parents--with pictures.  They take their work home each week--to eat.  Yum!!

GRAND KID HEAVEN

Last week we were up to our ears in wonderful grand kids.  We got the pool just in time.  Our Iowa kids and grand kids came down, and our Missouri kids and grand kids came over.  Lots of food and fun.

We blew up the small pool for the small kids, and they liked it just as well.  Us gals put our feet in the cool water.  One day it got up to 106 degrees----hot.
Everything is back to normal here now.  I spent yesterday readjusting from all the activity, and doing laundry.  It was life in the fast lane.

I managed to get a family pic after church before they left---Yea!!!
All fifteen of us!

Hot, Hot....Cool

We got up real early so we could get to work on the pool set-up.
We got to this point and had to wait for the sun to come up a little more to warm up the pool fabric so we could add the rims and legs.

In the mean time I tidied up a much neglected flower bed.  That's when Erin showed up.

We had that baby standing up in short order.  Erin helped hubby with the pump and filter and salt water filter system, while I tried to keep my head in the shade.  Boy it was hot.  I think it reach 103 degrees today--Weeee!

We found a way to cool off-----

---at least Erin and I did.
I finally talked hubby into a swim later, but his poor head was cooking, so we got out and took showers, then Celeste and her family showed up for a sweet surprise visit.

My hubby is quite a fella.  He got us breakfast, and lunch while we swam, and he smothered.  I think the pool is about 2/3's full right now.  I think this calls for a night swim this evening.

Joplin Ball Game

We went with my sister and her family to my nephews football game in Joplin Saturday night.  I asked my daughter to take pictures on her phone for me, and here they are.  It was a warm night.  I get so excited at ballgames.

Here they are before the game doing warm-ups or something.
It was a beautiful night.   It was on ESPN, so the game lasted longer than normal.
I went a long time without eating, so my sugar got too low, but I survived.  My sister gave me some candy--thank goodness.

I don't remember the score, but my nephews team won; it was 40 something to 20 something, I think.

I brought my quilt to sit on, but next time I want to take a seat with back on it--that, and food!

It's been a long time since I've been to a high school ball game.  It was fun, and I'm old.

Craft Day, and Pink flowers

Today is craft day at my sister Alice's house, where I plan to work on this poor forsaken project.  Curves in a hand piece project makes slow work, but I need to get going on it again.

I love pink flowers, can ya tell?
Magic  Lily here--or as my MIL calls them, "Naked Ladies"...
(sorry, fogged lens, and no flash with a flash setting)

Hollyhocks...

Zinnias...

Spider flower, or Cleome...

Gladiolas...

more Hollyhocks...

and a porch full of pink.

Summer Delight

I just have to show some flowers in my garden as of this week...
...a beautiful dahlia...

...hollyhocks...

...and I know these aren't flowers, but my elephant ears are so stinkin' big.

I trimmed them up a little, to get rid of some leaves that were terribly scalded by the recent horrible heat wave that seems to be over for the present time.  My poor impatiens may never recover.

My flowerbed that I worked so hard on is finally starting to look good--somewhat anyway.  There is just too much shade back there for it to produce the abundance of flowers I enjoy.  I may have to rethink what I will plant back there next year, God willing, that is.

This morning's beautiful sky...

It got me a late start on making our breakfast, and hubby's lunch, but it was worth it.

Today is our baby daughter's birthday, so I gotta get crackin'.  She ain't no baby, but she will always be my baby.  I love all my girls.  They are each so special to me in their own way.

Hot, Hot, Hot!

I can't remember when we've had such hot weather.  It seems like the whole month of July was much hotter than normal.

I've been doing a lot of watering to keep my flowers going, although I missed a couple and they're dead.
The lawn isn't looking too good either.

It got up 108.3 yesterday a little after we took this picture yesterday.

I took this picture (below) a few minutes ago.
I'm ready for some cooler weather, but I don't think it's gonna happen any time soon.
What would we do without air conditioning.  I would probably spend a lot of time in a pool of water.
